| Author, public relations executive, ghostwriter and award-winning journalist Jeff Dunlap is perhaps best known for creative thinking, insightful writing and careful execution. He has produced more than 500 articles – plus books, executive speeches, press kits, annual reports, media events, professional conferences and public hearings among many successful public relations initiatives.
Early in his career, Jeff was an editor and reporter at The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and a columnist for The Tampa Tribune. He later was recruited by a global public relations firm. After several years of big agency experience, he opened the firm known as PowerlinePR.
The agency is associated with leading graphic designers, photographers and webmasters across the U.S.
As a consultant, Jeff created and managed the strategic program that changed the name of Northeast Missouri State University to Truman State University. For more than ten years, he served as public relations consultant for the global advertising agency-of-record for Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey. He is author of Telemedicine – A Funding Resource Guide, a 125-page book published for the U.S healthcare industry. He co-wrote The Telecommunications Applications Handbook for Teachers detailing Internet and Distance Learning applications. In 2009, Jeff was engaged to write a full-length narrative book about public school annexation for the Independence School District in Independence, Missouri. As a consultant, Jeff served as managing editor of General American Solutions, an award-winning consumer magazine distributed nationwide for General American Life Insurance Company and contributing editor of Pulitzer Magazine, a publication for employees of Pulitzer Publishing Company nationwide. In addition, he served as editor of St. Louis CEO magazine and Commercial Journal magazine.
Jeff twice won the William Randolph Hearst National Journalism Award for Excellence and twice shared a National Award of Excellence for magazine management. He won the Amusement Business National Award for an article series about the world-famous Zacchini family who starred with Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey for three generations.
He served the Saint Louis Society for the Blind & Visually Impaired as a board member for three years and is former Vice Chairman – Public Relations, for Christmas In St. Louis, the not-for-profit entity that sponsors major holiday events, including the St. Louis Thanksgiving Day Parade.
When not working, Jeff enjoys being with his two college-age children, sport fishing and playing guitar in a classic rock band.
